translate / device labFeasibility probe

BEFORE THE CONVERSATION

Two tests.
Real evidence.

Check whether this phone keeps sending audio when you switch apps, then test whether your voice can be distinguished from someone nearby.

This is a test tool. Background capture and owner-only matching are not yet verified. No captions or translation are running.

01

Set up this phone

Use the same browser and connection you plan to use at dinner.

Browser-reported details. Exact phone model and OS version may be unavailable.

Microphone permission is requested only when you start a recording. No paid API calls are used by these tests.

02

App-switch capture

Measure what reaches the server.

  1. Start capture and speak for 5 seconds.
  2. Switch to another app and keep speaking for 5, 30, or 120 seconds.
  3. Return, stop capture, and inspect the report.

Repeat each duration on actual iPhone and Android devices. A live microphone indicator does not prove continuous audio delivery.

03

Enroll your voice

Read naturally in your selected language.

Speak alone in a quiet place. Read each prompt at a comfortable pace, then repeat or add a little detail until 30 seconds of audio is captured.

0 / 30 seconds

Your voice has not been enrolled.

04

Challenge the match

Record a short trial after enrollment. Test your voice, another person, and both speaking together.

The label records ground truth for review. It does not determine the matching result. Overlapping speech is a separate challenge; this probe does not prove voice isolation.

No voice check yet. Matching thresholds are provisional and uncalibrated.
05

Review the evidence

Compare server timestamps, gaps, and voice trials before making a product decision.

Physical device testing required. Neither gate is marked passed by this tool.
